Common Questions

Features

  • How do I launch Cooliris? How do I use Cooliris on my favorite sites?

It's really simple! These are the 5 ways to launch Cooliris.

    • When you're on the Google images, Facebook, YouTube, Flickr, or Myspace, mouse over any image and click the Cooliris icon that appears.
    • Click the Cooliris icon on your browser's toolbar.
    • Click the "Launch Cooliris" icon on your desktop (on PCs).
    • Visit www.cooliris.com.
    • Bookmark any Cooliris page in your browser, and then open it anytime.
  • How can I save images viewed in Cooliris?

Cooliris lets you jump to the corresponding web page of the highlighted image so you can use the native features of your browser. To do so, click the 'Jump to Page' icon that appears on the detail bar located at the bottom center of the screen after an item has been selected. Cooliris does not yet provide a built-in save function.

  • Can I enable my website for Cooliris?

Yes. See our Cooliris for Developers site to learn how to enable Cooliris for your website or WordPress blog.

  • How do I safely remove the desktop launch icon?

The desktop launch icon allows users to launch directly in Cooliris from the desktop. Some users find this extremely helpful, while others are satisfied with using our other launch options (browser toolbar launch, mouseover launch). Removing the desktop icon and start menu icon is easy. If you're using Windows, right-click the icon or folder and select "Delete." For Mac users, just click and drag the Cooliris "Launch" icon to the trash.

  • Can I use Cooliris without an internet connection?

Yes! In both Firefox and Internet Explorer, if you have no available Internet connection and you wish to use Cooliris, select File (Tools for IE) > Work Offline. When you have a connection available again, select File (Tools for IE) > Work Offline again to remove the check mark next to Work Offline. Please note: This will only work if you have a Cooliris page in your browser's cache.

  • How secure are my local files displayed in the My Computer feature of Cooliris?

Files that are displayed in the My Computer feature of Cooliris are completely private, only viewable on your computer, and are not public in any way.
