bugs & issues Issues with new Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard

If you have Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard and are experiencing issues with Cooliris, please download our latest version 1.11.3 here. Our new version fixes compatibility issues with Snow Leopard on Safari and Firefox, whereby Snow Leopard had previously disabled videos, movies, and other features, or rendered Cooliris completely inoperable.

bugs & issues Graphics issues, display errors, crashes, or slow performance

Updating your graphics driver can fix crashes and graphics issues such as distortions, jagged lines, and flickering.
Changing the graphics mode on Cooliris can fix slow or laggy performance, and issues such as missing cursors, blocked text, and unexpected changes to your monitor settings.

bugs & issues YouTube videos do not play in Cooliris

This issue has been fixed in our latest version of Cooliris.

bugs & issues "Image not available" error on Flickr

Flickr recently modified the way full size images are presented, which may lead to an "Image not available" error. This is fixed with our newest version 1.9.1+ of Cooliris now available at www.cooliris.com.

bugs & issues Installation issues on Firefox (Error-203 or Error -207)

If you are having install errors, try these three steps:

  1. Suspend or temporarily disable your Antivirus or Spyware software before installing. Our software does not contain spyware, but certain security settings may affect installation.
  2. Clear the browser's cache and cookies by going go to Tools > Options > Privacy > Private Data > Clear Now, and then restart your browser.
  3. Download the installation file (.xpi) to the desktop and then drag it into the Firefox browser window to install. To download the file to the desktop, right-click the the appropriate "Download" link here, and select "Save link as" to the desktop.

bugs & issues Cooliris icon not on browser toolbar

The Cooliris toolbar icon lets you launch Cooliris at any time. Some users report that the toolbar icon does not appear. Here's how to fix the issue:

Internet Explorer 6

  1. View > Toolbars > Customize.
  2. Add the Cooliris icon.
  3. Click and drag the icon to the top of the list.
  4. Click "Close" to save your settings.

Internet Explorer 7 & 8

  1. Right-click the browser toolbar > Customize > Add or Remove Commands.
  2. Add the Cooliris icon.
  3. Click and drag the icon to the top of the list.
  4. Click "Close" to save your settings.

Firefox

  1. In your browser toolbar, navigate to Tools > Addons > Extensions.
  2. Disable Cooliris and restart Firefox.
  3. Return to Tools > Addons > Extensions, re-enable Cooliris, and restart Firefox again.
  4. If the toolbar icon is still not on your toolbar, Navigate to View > Toolbars > Customize, click "Restore Default Set."
  5. Drag the Cooliris icon into your toolbar.

Safari

  1. Command+click the toolbar. Select "Customize." Drag the "Launch Cooliris" icon to the Safari toolbar. Select close.
  2. Command+click the Cooliris icon. Select "Keep Item Visible."

bugs & issues Conflict with Firefox add-on called NoScript

The NoScript add-on will prevent the Cooliris icon from appearing on search results pages like Google images and will block search results from appearing when searching inside of Cooliris. To resolve this issue, go to your NoScript preference settings and add cooliris.com to the whitelist of allowed sites.

bugs & issues Cooliris no longer works on my PPC Mac

Cooliris v.1.11 and above no longer supports PPC Macs due to software specifications required for our new advanced features. To continue enjoying Cooliris on your PPC Mac, please visit our release notes to find a previous version of Cooliris that's compatible for your browser and OS.

bugs & issues Conflict with Firefox add-on called CustomizeGoogle

Cooliris may not work properly on Google Images if the CustomizeGoogle add-on is also enabled on your Firefox browser. Read more

bugs & issues Problems when using more than one monitor

Some users have reported graphic inconsistencies when using more than one monitor. We're pleased to that Cooliris 1.9.1+ fixes the graphics issues, although Cooliris does not yet display the 3D Wall across two monitors. Please download the latest version of Cooliris now!

bugs & issues Flickering and conflicts with desktop widgets

Some users of popular desktop widgets such as Yahoo! Widgets, RK Launcher, and Rocket Dock report flickering or conflicts with Cooliris. To resolve this, go to the options settings of the particular widget. Then, either (a) disable or deselect the option to "always display on top", or (b) set it to "auto-hide" mode.

bugs & issues Text problems in search box

Currently, we support a variety of languages using TrueType Fonts. However, the search box only supports text input from left to right. Thus, languages which do not traditionally write from left to right cannot be typed into the search box. They can, however, be copied and pasted into the search box.

bugs & issues Unusual Performance issues with a Logitech mouse

With some third party mouse hardware, you may experience cursor flickering or disappearance while in Cooliris. Go to Control Panel -> Mouse and turn off Mouse Trails. Moreover, the Logitech mouse interprets Firefox plus Cooliris as a game, and thus kicks in the "disable acceleration in games" function. Solution: (1) Go to your Logitech mouse control panel and then (2) disable the option which reads "Disable acceleration in games." This can be found in the "Motion" section, under "cursor speed and acceleration" preferences.

bugs & issues Not sure how to launch Cooliris

There are two ways to launch Cooliris: (1) Visit one the many supported websites such as http://images.google.com (Facebook, Flickr, YouTube, and more), and then mouseover any image and click the Cooliris icon that appears above the image; or (2) Click the Cooliris icon located at the top right of your browser toolbar.

bugs & issues Mac getting blank screen and crashing

Some Mac users report launching Cooliris brings up a blank screen and hitting ESC crashes the browser. If you have an Intel-based Mac, turn off Rosetta emulation. To do so, open your applications window, click the browser icon once to highlight it, and then hit Command-I to get an info box. Uncheck "Open using Rosetta." If the problem persists, please email us.

bugs & issues Using Cooliris resets the monitor's color profile

This is a known bug of ATI Catalyst graphics drivers. These drivers enforce their own color correction, thus overriding any color profiles created by the user. A possible solution is to use a third-party tool called ATI Tray Tools, which can be found here, which has the option to turn the color correction off.

bugs & issues Nothing happens when clicking Favorites tab in Cooliris

If you're using Firefox, please set your browser to accept third party cookies by going to Tools > Options > Privacy > and then enable the check box that says "Accept third party cookies."

bugs & issues Unable to set up "My Photos" in iPhone application

To link to your Picasa album, make sure your album is set to "Public" via the Picasa Web Albums website. For Flickr albums, try inputting the email address used to sign in for Flickr. If that does not work, try your username.
