If you're currently experiencing issues in Cooliris, we recommend you update all software on your computer as described on this page. Update all software even if you're sure your existing version is the most current, as errors may have occured during their original installation. Please restart your computer after performing any of these updates and before testing Cooliris.

self-help2. Update your graphics driver
Updating to your graphics driver can fix crashes and graphics issues such as distortions, jagged lines, and flickering.
If you have a computer running Windows
Before you can update the graphics driver, you need to know what kind of graphics card you have. Here's how:
For Windows Vista
- Click "Start."
- Type "dxdiag" in the search box (without the quotations marks), and then click "Enter."
- When the DirectX Diagnostic Tool opens, click the "Display" tab.
- On the "Display" tab, look at the "Device" section. You can see the name and type of your card.
For Windows XP
- Click "Start."
- Select "Run."
- Type "dxdiag" in the "Run" window (without the quotations marks), and then click "OK."
- When the DirectX Diagnostic Tool opens, click the "Display" tab.
- On the "Display" tab, look at the "Device" section. You can see the name and type of your card.
Once you know the kind of graphics card you have, visit the manufacturer's website to download the latest driver. Here are links for downloading drivers from the most common graphics card manufacturers:

If you have a computer running Mac OSX
- Click the Apple icon.
- On the "Apple" menu, click "Software Update."
- If there is a Mac OS X update available, you can install it. If there is a graphics driver update, it will be included in the Mac OS X update.
self-help3. Optimize the graphics mode used on Cooliris
Reconfiguring the graphics mode on Cooliris can fix slow or laggy performance, and issues such as missing cursors, blocked text, and unexpected changes to your monitor settings.
Here's how:
- Make sure you have the most recent version of Cooliris installed on your browser.
- With Cooliris installed, click here.
self-help4. Fix common issues affecting Internet Explorer
If you are using Internet Explorer and are experiencing suboptimal performance, complete all four actions below.
Allow toolbars and extensions
- Go to Tools > Internet Options > Privacy.
- Ensure that "Disable Toolbars and Extensions when in Private Browsing starts" is not checked.
- Go to the Security tab.
- Make sure Security level is set to Medium-High. If it is Custom, click "Default Level."
- Click "OK."
Delete browsing history
- Go to Safety > Delete Browsing History (in IE7, Tools > Delete Browsing History).
- Make sure both "Temporary Internet Files" and "Cookies" are checked.
- Click "Delete".
Confirm Cooliris is enabled
- Go to Tools > Manage Add-ons.
- Make sure both Cooliris extensions are Enabled.
Ensure Cooliris is compatible for all views (for IE8 only)
- Go to Tools > Compatibility View Settings.
- Remove "cooliris.com" from the list, if it is listed.
- Uncheck the box "Include updated website lists from Microsoft."
- Click "Close."
- Go to res://iecompat.dll/iecompatdata.xml in your browser.
- Verify that Cooliris doesn't appear anywhere in the list.
When you've completed the above, close all IE Windows and restart your computer.

Some content displayed within Cooliris may require a up-to-date version of Adobe Flash® in order to run smoothly.

self-help7. Test Cooliris and let us know your results
If you're still experiencing issues after completing the above updates, we'd like to help. We've created a test feed below that displays various types of media within Cooliris. With it, wed' like to pinpoint what specific media types are giving you the suboptimal experience.
- Please click the "Launch Cooliris Test Feed" button below to launch a test feed within Cooliris.
- Once within Cooliris, select a photo or video.
- If you experience a problem on that item, note the information associated to that piece of content.
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 until all content has been selected at least once.
- Email us your notes on any problems experienced.
